The hate crime hoax conviction against actor Jussie Smollett has been overturned by the Illinois Supreme Court over prosecutorial issues.

Smollett was accused of falsely reporting a hate crime to Chicago police in 2019, allegations he has repeatedly denied. He testified during his trial that he was truly attacked that night.
