A federal judge said in a court order that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for now cannot terminate employees, dealing a blow to President Donald Trump’s efforts to dismantle the agency.

The order, which the Trump administration agreed to, also said the CFPB cannot delete any data and no steps can be taken to reduce the agency's funding while legal proceedings move forward.
