A federal judge in Boston has temporarily halted the government's plan to implement mass buyouts at federal agencies, at least until Monday, giving both sides more time to prepare arguments.

A senior administration official told NBC News that more than 60,000 federal workers had so far accepted the buyout offer, which labor unions say is illegal.
