Liz Truss said she would “get us through the tempest” and “get Britain moving” as she delivered her first Tory conference speech as party leader, as environmental protesters disrupted her address.

Protesters holding a flag which read “who voted for this?” were ejected from the hall after disrupting the speech.

Before the speech, a poll suggested Liz Truss is already more unpopular than Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn ever was.
