Retired Marine Lt. Col. Amy McGrath has won the state's U.S. Senate Democratic primary, NBC News projects, narrowly edging Kentucky state Rep. Charles Booker in a tougher-than-expected race to take on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in November.
