Sears chairman Eddie Lampert’s hedge fund, ESL Investments, is the winning bidder in the retailer’s bankruptcy auction. With the $5.2 billion bid, subject to court approval, ESL will acquire the retailer’s assets and possibly save 45,000 jobs.
