Nick Saban tests positive for COVID-19, will miss Iron Bowl

Alabama won’t have Nick Saban when it faces Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Saturday.

 
Saban has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the Iron Bowl, it was announced Wednesday morning.

 
The Crimson Tide head coach has some symptoms and there’s no chance of it being a false positive on the test this time, unlike when Saban tested positive leading into Alabama’s game against Georgia.

“This morning we received notification that Coach Saban tested positive for COVID-19,” Alabama team doctor Jimmy Robinson and associate athletics director for sports medicine Jeff Allen said in a statement. “He has very mild symptoms, so this test will not be categorized as a potential false positive. He will follow all appropriate guidelines and isolate at home.”
