First fall in weekly deaths in months

This week's coronavirus figures show the first fall in weekly Covid-19 deaths since the end of September.

Announcing the news at today's briefing, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it was "good news" but any feeling of relief "must be tempered with the recognition the number of deaths is still far too high".

'If you can get through Christmas staying at home then do that'

Nicola Sturgeon has urged people to stay at home over Christmas as much as possible.

It comes after the announcement Scots can mix with two other households over the festive period.

Public can now get Covid test at Edinburgh airport

Travellers can now pay to get a coronavirus test at Edinburgh Airport. 

A new screening centre has opened at the airport today,
