Gianforte was cited formisdemeanor assault Wednesday evening after apolitical reporter, Ben Jacobs, claimed he was "body slammed" by him. The U.S. House seat opened when President Trump named Rep. Ryan Zinke to lead the Interior Department and has been Republican-held for two decades in a state Trump won in November by 20 points.
