Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an order Thursday requiring all Texans to wear face coverings in public spaces in counties with 20 or more positive COVID-19 cases. The order, which came as Texas reported nearly 8,000 new cases on Wednesday, also granted local authorities power to restrict gatherings of more than 10 people.
