UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters have reached a tentative agreement on a new national contract.
The tentative deal is a major step toward averting a strike that could keep UPS from delivering millions of packages a day. The union's current contract with the company is set to expire Aug. 1.
The bargaining process isn’t over yet, however. Next, the union will present the agreement to the hundreds of thousands of UPS employees it represents for review and voting.
