Alabama voters headed to the polls Tuesday in the closely watched Senate race between Republican Roy Moore, who has been accused of sexually assaulting teenage girls when he was in his 30s, and Democrat Doug Jones, a former U.S. attorney. Republicans have a 52-48 majority in the U.S. Senate and have struggled to keep the party together on key votes. Losing one seat to the Democrats would make that task even harder. The election is also a referendum on President Trump, who has backed Moore. The polls are open until 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET).
