Brewing controversy: Jefferson Parish is planning to spend $10 million on a brewpub and taco restaurant in downtown Gretna, and it's not letting a critical state Inspector General's report slow it down. Blake Paterson has the story.
Too many trees? Entergy says tens of thousands of ratepayers have experienced "vegetation-related" power failures — many of which could be avoided if the city's tree canopy was cut back. The city and advocacy groups, however, say doing so would be a mistake. Josie Abugov has this report.
Higgins speaks: U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, a Republican who represents the Acadiana area in Congress, called Haiti the “nastiest country in the western hemisphere” and said Haitian immigrants living legally in Springfield, Ohio, should get “their ass out of our country before January 20th.” Mark Ballard has the details.
