STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS:
A CONVERSATION WITH NOBEL LAUREATE JOHN MATHER

Every generation benefits from the insights and discoveries of the generations who came before. “If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants,” wrote Isaac Newton. In a special series, WSF invites audiences to stand on the shoulders of modern-day giants.

Brian Greene interviews this year’s “giant,” Nobel Laureate John Mather, who has played a pivotal role in two of the greatest achievements in astronomy in the last half-century: NASA’s COBE mission and the James Webb Space Telescope.
