Brimbank City Council - Coronavirus Response and Recovery Strategy
Council’s Coronavirus Response and Recovery Strategy provides a whole-of-council approach to help combat the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) across Brimbank and the broader community. The strategy seeks to complement and address where possible, gaps that may not be met by the current Federal and State support packages.
Key Stage 1 areas of focus for Council’s Strategy include a Health and Wellbeing Response, Community Support Response (Financial Hardship and Resources), Economic Development Response, Economic Support Response, and a Communications, Engagement, and Advocacy Response.

Victorian Government - Business Support Fund
Business Support Fund applications are now open as part of the Victorian Government Economic Survival and Jobs Package. Through the fund, small businesses are eligible for $10,000 grants if they:
- employ staff
- are highly impacted by COVID-19 (coronavirus) business restrictions
- have a turnover of more than $75,000
- have a payroll of less than $650,000

Australian Government - JobKeeper Payment
If your business has been impacted by COVID-19 (coronavirus), you may be able to access a wage subsidy to continue paying your employees. Eligible employers will be able to claim $1,500 fortnightly per eligible employee from 30 March 2020, for a maximum of 6 months.

Tax Relief for Eligible Businesses
The State Revenue Office has several tax measures to help small businesses during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. These include waived payroll tax, waived liquor licence fees, and land tax deferral.

Small Business Mentoring Service
The Small Business Mentoring Services (SBMS) offers low-cost mentoring sessions designed to provide support for businesses in these extreme times. Sessions are held with a mentor of your choice by Skype, Zoom or telephone.
