The State Government mandated ban on single-use plastics comes into effect on 1 February 2023.  The ban includes single-use plastic straws, cutlery, plates, drink-stirrers, cotton bud sticks, and expanded polystyrene food and drink containers.  Start preparing now by running down your single-use plastics stock and ask your supplier about reusable or sustainable alternatives.

Vietnamese TET Celebration – 22 January 2023 (St Albans Community Centre)

This free family friendly event will be held 12 noon to 6pm. Come along and enjoy food, culture, fashion and the arts as well as enter the game show or 'Best Ao Dai of the Day' competitions to win great prizes. 

Vietnamese TET Celebration (Arts Showcase) – 22 January 2023

This special ticketed event at the Bowery Theatre in St Albans includes an Ao Dai adult and children's fashion show, Vietnamese traditional dance, live music, a magician, games and a lucky draw prizes. (Entry $20, $15 concession. Free for children under 10)

Sunshine Lunar New Year Festival - 12 February 2023

The Sunshine Lunar New Year Festival or Tét Festival will be the first to be held in Sunshine and promises to be a huge day of family fun, live entertainment, children's rides, street performers, street food, magical Lion and Dragon dancing, ending with spectacular fireworks.  (Free entry)
