The Watergardens Jobs Fair is underway until Saturday evening and is located in the Marketplace, opposite Aldi in the Watergardens Shopping Centre.  The Jobs Fair is sponsored by Council’s Economic Development Unit and includes more than 200 local businesses and employment specialists offering employment and advice.

The State Government program targets truck operators who regularly travel through the inner west to remove their older, dirtier trucks off the road and encourage the transition to newer, more emission efficient trucks.

The State Government program targets businesses in metropolitan Melbourne’s Outer and Inner West with funding grants up to  $100,000 for projects that reduce air pollution such as:

  • Installation of enclosed sheds
  • Sealing private roadways hardstands or sealing work areas
  • Upgrading to electric or hybrid generators and fixed plant
  • Planting vegetation as a dust and particulate emissions barrier 
  • Misting sprays along fence boundaries
  • Air filters and bag houses for emitting facilities
  • Installation of physical barriers
  • Vehicle or wheel washing facilities
  • Plant upgrades such as installation of diesel particulate filters and exhaust scrubbers.

Council and the Kangan Institute have joined forces with the Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre to host a networking evening for local manufacturers and engineering operators.

Attendees can network with local industry peers, discuss industry trends and discover potential funding opportunities to improve the manufacturing talent pool using the Victorian Manufacturing Skills Project.

Development Contribution Plan 2022 and Brimbank Planning Scheme Amendment C214

Council has prepared the draft Brimbank Development Contribution Plan 2022 (DCP) to introduce a new development levy to fund 48 community infrastructure projects.  The proposed levy will only apply to residential development.

Council is currently exhibiting the DCP and the proposed amendment to introduce it into the Brimbank Planning Scheme
