WEALTHTECH

As the dust settles on the 2022 INVEST Conference, Financial Planning is bringing more insight from the insiders who gathered to discuss the critical technology topics shaping the future of wealth management.

Among them are Cynthia Loh, head of product for Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management Group. After delivering a keynote on how tech and financial services connect, the industry vet sat down with Financial Planning to discuss her outlook on the industry and the importance of advisors in today’s world.

Loh has the goal of bringing Goldman Sachs’ world-class reputation and legacy to more people. To bring the “unreachable” firm within the grasp, her strategy is advisor-led and technology-enabled. She also sees data and personalization as key topics wealth managers will need to be mindful of in the future; and believes great opportunity lies in the industry’s ability to embrace women both as industry leaders and highly sought after clients.

But when it’s all said and done, Loh — who went from studying cognitive science and artificial intelligence to financial services — values the impact of her work above all else. For her, it’s a huge win if her team is able to help just one person gain access to a level of investing and planning they didn’t think was possible. And while you’re there, check out what executives from J.P. Morgan Chase, Envestnet, Northwestern Mutual and Wealth Partners Capital Group had to say about talent and tech solving the industry’s challenges; and the results of the 2022 FP Tech Survey.
