Today I want to teach you an insanely powerful business lesson from my friend, client, and business partner Bedros Keuilian. Now for those of you who don’t know… Bedros is an Armenian immigrant who grew up dirt poor in Southern California. Like, “Eating from dumpsters and washing his hair with gasoline to get rid of lice” poor. At one point in his late 20s… He was working as a line cook at Disney World and a bouncer at a gay bar while trying to build his first business (which failed spectacularly) But today? He runs one of the fastest growing fitness franchises in the world (Fit Body Bootcamp) which rakes in more than $40MM a year. And a while back… We were on our podcast The Empire Show talking about “easy” ways for entrepreneurs to generate extra cash. And he told me something interesting… He said, “Craig… if you aren’t following up with new leads at least 4-6 times in the first 24 hours… you’re leaving a ton of money on the table.” For example… When a new lead hits his pipeline. Someone from his team immediately gives them a call. If they don’t answer, they immediately send a text message. If they don’t respond to that, they send them an email within the hour. And if they still don’t respond… The team “stalks” the lead on social and sends them a DM on Facebook, IG, and LinkedIn. Personally… I thought this was overkill. “Aren’t you going to annoy them?” I asked him… And his response was brilliant. “Dude” he fired back… “If someone becomes a lead… that means they have a burning problem in their life that’s keeping them awake at night... and they believe YOU can solve it.” He continued… “If you aren’t following up like crazy, you are allowing them to continue suffering because of that problem when you have the solution.” And he's got a great point... People are busy. They have mortgages to pay, kids to raise, and businesses to run. And even if they believe you "might" be able to help them... ...It's your job to SHOW them beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have the solution they need most. From an income perspective, I'd guess that most entrepreneurs could increase their bottom line by 15-20% overnight... Simply by getting serious about follow up (something my team and I are actually working on ourselves). And from an impact standpoint... Sure, you might "annoy" a few people. But in the long run you'll be solving a lot more problems and helping thousands of people overcome their greatest pain points and challenges. So my challenge to you today is simple... Look at the "prospect experience" in your business and see if there are any obvious holes you can plug today. How many times do you follow up with a new lead when they hit your pipeline? Do you have clear email autorseponders that speak to the exact stage of the journey your prospect is in? E.g. if you have a webinar, do you have emails following up to make sure they watch it... and if they've watched it, do you follow up to get them to buy? Are you following up over the phone or by social and making sure that you get your life-changing solution into the hands of as many people who need it? If not, take action to fix it today.
