Good evening,

Good evening,

It was a bit of a forgettable Monday in markets, with brokers rueing a quiet and boring day’s trade on the ASX that signalled what’s likely in store for the coming six weeks.

In deals, there were no major announcements. George Frazis’ exit from Bank of Queensland was the biggest corporate story, while there were some interesting insights coming from CFOs at the AFR’s CFO Live Conference in Sydney.

Wesfarmers, Ramsay Health Care, CSL, Aurizon, Santos, Worley and QBE were all represented in panel discussions, while unfortunately BoQ’s Racheal Kellaway was a late withdrawal.

In deals, we’ve got a bit of everything tonight.

There’s a new financial adviser on the Brookfield ticket for Origin Energy (big news in the world of investment banking, but likely no real-world impact), and a downround coming at Nicholas Moore-chaired tech company Willow.

We also have news on a couple of activist situations – EML Payments and Regal Funds – which are heating up.

Happy reading,
Anthony Macdonald, Sarah Thompson and Kanika Sood
