International Holocaust Remembrance Day

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed annually on 27 January. On this day in 1945, the Soviet army liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp, where Otto Frank was held. Nowadays, this day commemorates the Holocaust, in which approximately 6 million Jews perished. It also commemorates the other victims of the Nazi era.

Exhibition ‘The Frank Family in Frankfurt’

The Anne Frank House features an exhibition that tells the story of the Frank family in Frankfurt against the backdrop of Germany’s economic, social, and political problems. The exhibition begins with Anne Frank’s birth in Germany in 1929. It highlights the rise to power of Hitler and his right-wing extremist party, with election posters and ballots that illustrate how the German democracy turned into a dictatorship.
