Baton Rouge police strip search policy must go, federal judge rules

U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick has ruled the strip search policy used by the Baton Rouge Police Department is unconstitutional. She said a person subjected to an invasive search without probable cause had their constitutional rights "significantly trampled."

BRPD has employed the policy for around 30 years.

New details have come to light concerning a series of horrific and inhumane events that spanned two states and left a Louisiana mother and her youngest daughter dead. The child's 6-year-old sibling was injured but survived.

The suspect says he was going to keep the living child as "a sex slave," court documents say.
