👉 New Zealand Tax Authority Orders Crypto Firms to Share Customer Info

New Zealand's Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has ordered crypto firms in the country to hand over personal details of their users.

According to the agency, they have requested the information to improve their understanding of the country's "crypto-asset environment", to help taxpayers meet their obligations.

The move sparks concern for crypto service users in other countries, with the CEO of one of the companies involved labeling it as a "heartbreaking breach" of privacy.

👉 ETH 2.0 Developers Launch "Spadina" Testnet

Ethereum 2.0 developers have launched a testnet called Spadina, which is designed to facilitate the practice of staking, over a three-day testing period.

Ethereum Foundation researcher Danny Ryan says the dry-run will give stakeholders "greater peace of mind" once the mainnet is integrated.

A hacker made away today with $15 million in funds, which were drained from a smart contract belonging to an unreleased yearn.finance project.

Speculators blindly made their way into the unreleased, un-audited project, following the secret deployment of the smart contracts by YFI founder Andre Cronje.

The hacker unexpectedly returned $8 million of the funds to the project, almost immediately after performing the exploit
