👉 US FDIC Looking to Hire Blockchain-Versed Legal Counsel

The U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is seeking a legal counsel with expertise in blockchain, according to a public job listing.

The job description says the successful applicant will provide advice and assistance with legal issues arising from new digital technology.

Blockchain, smart contracts, utility settlement coins and more are all specifically mentioned in the listing.

👉 Canadian Tax Agency Forcing Handover of Crypto Exchange Records

The Canadian Revenue Agency is attempting to force a handover of customer information from cryptocurrency exchange Coinsquare, via a court request.

The agency is demanding records from as far back as 2013, in an effort to verify whether Coinsquare users have complied with tax reporting obligations.

👉 Crypto Lending Service Cred Files For Bankruptcy

Cred, a U.S.-based cryptocurrency lending service, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, listing its assets at $50-$100 million and liabilities between $100-$500 million.

Cred suspended fund inflows and outflows on its platform toward the end of last month citing working with authorities in an investigation, however customers have since been left in the dark.
