The milestone was hit following Bitcoin's rally through the $18,000 mark today, as well as a significant $262 million in new investments last week. The assets are mostly in Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust, but also includes investments into eight other investment trusts. President Trump has nominated former Coinbase chief legal officer Brian Brooks to a five-year term as the acting Comptroller of the Currency. Brooks' office was in charge of the guidance which allowed US banks to hold custody of cryptocurrencies on behalf of customers, as well as stablecoin reserves. He will have to receive approval in the US Senate in order to assume the five-year term. The second-wealthiest man in Mexico, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, has revealed that he holds 10% of his "liquid" wealth in Bitcoin, in a Tweet today.
