👉 Facebook's Libra Re-brands to "Diem" To Escape Initial Response

Facebook's Libra stablecoin project has re-branded to the new name "Diem", likely in an effort to shake off its initial impression made with regulators.

The Diem Association says the new name denotes a "new day" for the project, and continues to pursue a "safe, secure and compliant payment system" for people around the world.

The project announced that it would be launching a version of their stablecoin next January, which would initially be pegged exclusively to the US dollar.

👉 NYDIG Raises $100M from Single Investor for Crypto Fund

SEC papers have revealed that NYDIG, a cryptocurrency asset manager, raised $100 million from a single investor for its new cryptocurrency-focused fund.

NYDIG has had plenty of success in raising money for both of its cryptocurrency funds to date, attracting $50 million for its Digital Assets Fund I in November.

One of Australia’s most major cryptocurrency exchanges, BTC Markets, has accidentally leaked the names and email addresses of more than 270,000 users.

The leak was made by accident by the marketing department forgetting to obscure the names and addresses in a mass email, which should have been obscured.
