The SEC is alleging that Ripple's XRP token is classified as a security and that the token has been sold via an unregistered, ongoing securities offering since 2013. The suit also alleges that Ripple founders and executives failed to register their own personal XRP sales, which are estimated at $600 million. UK-based cryptocurrency exchange EXMO has updated estimates for losses from its recent hack, saying that 6% of its crypto assets were taken. EXMO previously placed the estimate at 5%, and say they assume the hacker obtained access to private keys. Six major assets were stolen in the attack.
