Eight US representatives have contacted Steve Mnuchin concerning the shortened comment period on FinCEN's proposed rule for cryptocurrency wallets.
The agency's notice of proposed rulemaking provided just 15 days for evaluation and comment from the public, rather than the traditional 60 day period.
FinCEN's proposed rule would increase reporting requirements for exchanges and specifically target "self-hosted" wallets.
A Grayscale spokesperson has clarified that the company has not sold off large stakes in Ripple (XRP) and Stellar Lumens (XLM), following reports claiming they did earlier this week.
