69,000 Bitcoins, worth around $2.2 billion at current market prices, have gone missing from South African investment platform AfriCrypt.
The firm claimed that it was hacked in mid-April of this year, pleading with investors to not pursue legal action while AfriCrypt "attempted to retrieve" the stolen funds.
The two brothers operating the firm, Ameer and Raees Cajee, have been accused of moving the entirety of the funds from AfriCrypt accounts through tumblers and mixing services. If proven, it would be the largest exit scam so far in crypto history.
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase registered with Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) last week, in a move to expand into the Japanese market.

Social media platform and forum Reddit is auctioning three non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Ethereum. All three CryptoSnoos are up for auction on OpenSea, the prominent NFT marketplace.
The collectibles, called CryptoSnoos, all feature the Reddit mascot Snoo and will be linkable to the new owner's Reddit account as an avatar.
