Meta is winding down its stablecoin project, Diem (formerly Libra), reportedly selling the project's technology assets to Silvergate Capital for $200 million.
The California-based Silvergate originally planned to partner with Diem to launch the stablecoin, which was never released. The asset sale is being actioned in order to return capital to Diem investors.
