Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has Tweeted that the company will resume accepting Bitcoin as payment, once 50% of miners go green.
According to Musk, there must be "confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners, with positive future trend". It is currently unclear how exactly Musk would fact-check Bitcoin clean energy usage.
Anticipation is building around the June 25 expiry date for $1.5 billion worth of Ethereum (ETH) options contracts - its largest to date.
The previous major options expiry date, March 26, had 30% less open interest, but saw the price of Ether fall 17% in 5 days. this was followed by a 56% rally.
Bitcoin's privacy-focused upgrade, Taproot, has reached the minimum limit of supportive blocks for its signalling period, after several weeks.
