The much-anticipated London hard-fork was activated on the Ethereum network yesterday, which includes the implementation of the popular EIP-1559 proposal.
EIP-1559 replaces the previous "fee auction" mechanism for transactions in a block with a more uniform gas price determined algorithmically by the network's demand.
Four other Ethereum Improvement Proposals were also included in the upgrade.
Senators Mark Warner and Rob Portman have submitted an amendment proposal for the controversial Infrastructure bill, which directly competes with the existing amendment proposed yesterday.
