Bitcoin block explorer and exchange Blockchain.com may be looking to hold an initial public offering (IPO) this year, according to Bloomberg.
Sources claim that discussions that have been held to date are only preliminary, with no plans currently set in stone for the move. The company would be only the second crypto exchange to go public in the US.
Blockchain.com began as a block explorer in 2011 and has expanded to a multi-faceted company now worth $14 billion.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) believes that governments should ensure their ability to impose capital controls on crypto, by law.
The statement was made in a financial stability report by the IMF published this morning, saying that laws and regulations should be "reviewed and amended" to cover cryptocurrency assets.

Crypto VC firm Framework Ventures has announced that it has raised $400 million for a new fund – half of which will be allocated towards blockchain gaming.
