More than $812 million worth of crypto futures positions have been liquidated as Bitcoin broke below the $46,000 mark. 87% of the liquidations came from long positions, betting on upward price movement.
Crypto exchange OKEx alone was responsible for $241 million of the liquidations, with Binance also accounting for $236 million. Behind Bitcoin liquidations, Ethereum positions also saw $164 million in liquidations.
China's biggest messaging app and popular payments tool, WeChat, has announced that it will begin supporting the country's central bank digital currency (CBDC).
Digital yuan payments will now be able to be accepted via WeChat Pay, opening the doors to more than 800 million monthly active users on the app to use the digital currency.
Samsung has formed a partnership with metaverse project Decentraland to open a digital version of its 837 flagship store, for a limited time.
