The Luna Foundation Guard (LFG) – the organization in charge of building Terra's UST stablecoin reserves – has purchased another $227 million in Bitcoin.
5,040 Bitcoins were purchased at a rate of around $45,100, marking the LFG's first major purchase since March 30. The foundation now holds $1.6 billion worth of Bitcoin, which is more than Tesla.
The LFG's current target size for Bitcoin reserves is $3 billion, with plans to eventually build a $10 billion BTC reserve.
Binance's American exchange, Binance.US, has successfully raised more than $200 million in its first funding round, valuing the company at $4.5 billion.
RRE Ventures, VanEck, Circle Ventures and several others contributed to the raise, with no lead investor for the round. Binance.US plans to use the acquired funds for launching new products and services, possibly through strategic mergers and acquisitions.
Lightning Labs, a Bitcoin-based software firm, has raised $70 million in Series B funding to continue working on the Lightning Network – including adding support for stablecoins.
The company will be developing a new protocol called Taro, which will facilitate Lightning Network stablecoin transfers, aided in part by November's Taproot upgrade to the Bitcoin network.
