Popular trading app and brokerage Robinhood has announced that it will be rolling out a cryptocurrency wallet and the ability to transfer crypto.
A testing phase for the features is being launched next month, with more customers able to access the features at a later date via a waitlist. The wallet will allow users to move their cryptocurrency off the platform, as well as receive supported crypto assets.
It has been reported that the Biden administration will be nominating Saule Omarova, an anti-crypto attorney and academic, as the head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
Omarova has expressed that she believes large financial institutions can abuse the cryptocurrency market outside the view of regulators, and has previously pledged to "end banking as we know it". The OCC oversees the banking sector in the US.
Dapper Labs, the company behind NBA Top Shot and its own blockchain "Flow", has closed a $250 million funding round, led by Coatue.
The funding values the company at $7.6 billion, on the same day that Dapper Labs announced a new partnership with Spain's top soccer league, LaLiga.
