👉 Controversial Crypto Tax Bill Will Go To Vote Tuesday, Unchanged

The controversial infrastructure bill – containing cryptocurrency tax provisions – will go to a vote on Tuesday, as debate over the bill ends without an amendment.

A section of the bill seeks to draw $28 billion in revenue from taxes on cryptocurrency, but has sparked criticism over its vague definition of a crypto "broker".

If passed on Tuesday, the legislation may still have a chance to be amended before it clears the house to be implemented as law.

👉 Former OCC Head Brian Brooks Resigns As BinanceUS CEO

Former head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Brian Brooks, has resigned from his CEO position at BinanceUS.

Brooks has cited "differences over strategic direction" as the reason for his departure, but offered no additional information. His tenure at BinanceUS lasted just three months, beginning May 1st of this year.

👉 Chainlink Integrates Google Cloud Weather Data

Cryptocurrency oracle provider, Chainlink, has added support for weather data from Google Cloud via collaboration that began in 2019.

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov emphasised the importance of weather data in decentralized insurance around weather events. The integration will enable the data to be used directly within blockchain-based applications.
