Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced plans to hire an additional 1,000 employees in India by the end of 2022 – a quadrupling of their current 300 Indian staff.
In addition to the hiring spree, Coinbase will also be hosting a crypto community event in Bangalore, to talk about the future of crypto and Web 3 in India.
Both announcements have come following the country's clarification of crypto tax laws, including a 30% tax on unrealized crypto gains.
Australia's "On the Run" convenience store chain has partnered with Crypto.com to accept crypto payments at 170 of its stores across Victoria and South Australia.
The partnership will utilize Crypto.com's Pay Merchant products, along with an Australian payment provider's new terminals which will make crypto payments easier to perform.
Crypto payments will also be accepted at some Subway, Oporto and Smokestart stores, owned by On The Run parent company, the Peregrine Corporation.
Chipmaker giant Intel has unveiled the "Blockscale ASIC", its second-generation Bitcoin mining computer chip – expected to begin shipping in Q3 of this year.
The chip is designed to be more energy-efficient, with a hash rate of up to 580 GH/s and energy usage of 26 J/TH. Companies including Argo Blockchain, Block Inc. and Hive Blockchain Technologies have already signed up to purchase the new hardware.
