Validators are the equivalent of miners in the networks new proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. A Chinese-based EOS wallet called EOS Ecosystem has reportedly shut down the platform and disappeared with $52 million worth of user funds. Investors noticed that they were unable to access funds in their EOS Ecosystem wallets as early as Monday, and it appears that most of the funds have been removed from the service's account. Almost all of the $25 million worth of funds stolen in an exploit of dForce's decentralized lending protocol Lendf.me have been returned.
