๐Ÿ‘‰ Employees of Chinese Government to be Paid in Digital Currency

It has been reported that employees of the Chinese government will begin to receive 50% of their transportation subsidies in the new central bank digital currency.

The move will begin in May, as the digital currency launches with four state-owned banks. It may represent the first instance of a cryptocurrency being properly deployed on a national scale.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Alibaba Subsidiary Launches OpenChain, a Consortium Blockchain

Chinese tech giant Alibaba have launched a consortium blockchain platform, through their financial technology subsidiary, Ant Financial.

The platform, named OpenChain, is designed to assist small to medium sized businesses run operations on their blockchain, which is currently faster and cheaper than public chains.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Almost 50 Google Chrome Extensions Busted for Hijacking Crypto Wallets

A total of 49 Google Chrome extensions have been removed from the Chrome Web Store, after being discovered to be malicious software.

The extensions were identified by researchers from two firms, MyCrypto and FishFort, who say the extensions were predominantly phishing tools targeting private keys and seed phrases.
