According to influencer Chris Dunn, all crypto-related videos were taken down from his channel and cited as "harmful or dangerous content" or "sale of regulated goods". Reports have stated that almost 7,000 pieces of cryptocurrency mining equipment have been seized by Chinese police, in the city of Tangshan. 790 mining rigs were seized in the most recent raid, which are claimed to consume as much electricity as 5,000 Chinese households. Bitcoin has reached a new all-time high in hashrate, hitting 115 EH/s. This is an increase by more than a third of the hashrate at the beginning of the year. The new high was short-lived, however, dropping back to 80 EH/s. The drop has been blamed on a Chinese crack-down on miners. |
