The email had been suspected as a phishing attempt by many users, before Poloniex publicly confirmed the email as legitimate. BlockFi, a prominent crypto lending platform, plans to launch a Bitcoin rewards credit card within the current year. The card will work as a normal credit card, however users will earn rewards in Bitcoin, rather than cash-back or airline miles. A Google Chrome extension called "Ledger Secure" has been discovered to be malware, capable of stealing cryptocurrency from its users.
