Top Stories for April 24, 2020 🔥 American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has launched its own oracle for Bitcoin and Ether, to provide a reliable price feed for decentralized finance (DeFi) systems. The price data will come from its Coinbase Pro exchange and will be signed with Coinbase's very own private key. This signature will verify the authenticity of the price feed data when used on third party protocols. BitMEX has announced that it will be launching new ETHUSD futures in contracts in May, which will accompany its existing perpetual swap contracts. The new derivative will have similar features to the existing swaps, however will have fixed expiry dates, with settlement in Bitcoin. Data by Arcane Research shows LocalBitcoins trading volume has reached levels 1028% higher than those in 2018, denominated in the Argentine Peso. The depreciation of the Peso has been shown to not be the only factor, with a 407% increase if volume is denominated in BTC, and a 139% increase if denominated in US Dollars. |
