👉 Morningstar to build blockchain debt securities technology

Morningstar is a major American investment services company that offers investment research reports as well as dedicated asset management services, whereby it actively manages over $200 billion in funds.

The company has announced that it is working on blockchain debt securities technology which will make it possible to package various debts into tokenized securities, which investors can quickly, easily, and transparently invest in.

👉 Speakers panel released for SF Blockchain Week

San Francisco Blockchain Week is annual blockchain gathering. It was first launched last year, and is on for a second edition later this month.

The newly-released speakers panel for the event boasts an impressive list of speakers. These include Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, Chris Larsen, a co-founder of Ripple, and Sergey Nazarov, CEO at Chainlink.

👉 SEC reaches settlement with SIA team

The United States Securities and Exchanges Commission, known in short as the SEC, has been cracking down on security-like cryptocurrency projects. One example that we've recently covered here on the newsletter is that of Kik's proprietary cryptocurrency.

The SEC has been battling yet another cryptocurrency project, SIA. However, the two parties have finally reached a settlement which will involve over $200,000 paid in fines.
