The quote came from a 20-part Tweetstorm by Sheffield over the weekend, which emphasized that CBDCs would have "major implications" for everything from monetary sovereignty to geopolitics and the adoption of Bitcoin. The Tweestorm also included several links to reports of countries pursuing their own CBDCs - including the United States. Binance-backed travel agency Travala.com is adding support for Expedia bookings, enabling users to pay for bookings in cryptocurrency for the first time since 2018. Users will be able to book using 30 different cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, thanks to a partnership which has allowed Travala to plug into Expedia Group Partner Services' "Rapid API". A number of Chinese courts have been reported to be using electronic seals based on a blockchain platform, in order to secure sealed properties. The seals trigger surveillance cameras if they are broken, also sending warnings to plaintiffs and law enforcement.
