Building Pathways to Equity Through STEM Programs Date: October 4, 2017 Time: 2:00 pm ET | | While STEM education has become a priority for K12 educators and policymakers, ensuring equity of access to high-quality STEM programs for all students remains challenging. Districts are stepping up to this challenge in innovative ways, using creative strategies to provide these learning opportunities equitably to all student populations. Attend this web seminar to learn some of the keys to building successful and equitable STEM programs that leverage robotics and coding. Two leaders from Boston Public Schools will discuss the district’s “Excellence for All” (EFA) initiative, which aims to empower Boston’s socioeconomically diverse student population by providing access to rigorous curriculum and enrichment opportunities, including cutting-edge STEM learning. We’ll also be joined by two educators from Frisco ISD in Texas, who will discuss how the district built a successful robotics and STEM program that is significantly impacting student learning and achievement. Our presenters will also discuss some strategies for building pathways to equity through STEM and robotics programs in any school or district.
