Brrrrrace yourself! Dangerously cold wind chills will hit us. We’re not kidding, tomorrow morning will feel like almost minus 30 in the Twin Cities with strong wind gusts. Northern Minnesota’s wind chills will reach minus 44 Thursday morning. Hang in there, Minnesota. Temperatures will bounce back to normal by Saturday. Under noncompete contracts, health care providers can’t continue serving their patients when leaving a clinic. Some say that should be changed. Noncompete agreements are allowed in just about every industry in Minnesota. Some lawmakers and health care professionals contend the contracts harm patients and worsen the provider shortage, especially in rural areas, but hospitals say they keep the costs of health care down. ICYMI: “Accept everybody regardless of their skin color.” Meet Amira Adawe, who’s on a mission to ensure those who are black and brown love their skin. Adawe, who is Somali, grew up seeing some of her family members and friends using skin-lightening products that may have “a lot of chemicals that are not well addressed.” Adawe now hopes to ensure skin lightening is not compartmentalized as a “communities of color” issue but is seen as a public health issue. Disney’s “Mighty Ducks” comes back. But it won’t be in Minnesota. Disney is rebooting “The Mighty Ducks” — the film franchise focused on the young, Twin Cities hockey players — for its new streaming platform Disney+.
