MPR News AM Update

Good morning,

🎧Big Books and Bold Ideas is usually the show where readers meet writers. But for this final show of 2022, we decided to do something unexpected. Instead of talking to writers about books they wrote, we asked them about their favorite literary characters someone else wrote. Listen at 12 p.m. Here's what else we have planned today.

We’ll have one cooler Friday with temperatures near normal; primarily in the 20s south and teens in northern Minnesota. We’ll also see some sunshine once again. Milder air moves back into southern Minnesota on Saturday. Get the latest on Updraft.

Listen: Soaring land prices pinch Minnesota farmers and consumers. Kent Thiesse is a Farm Management Analyst and  Senior Vice President and MinnStar Bank and joined MPR News host Cathy Wurzer to chat.
