Good morning, Utah Today readers! Here’s your forecast: 🌨️ 10 – 30° in Logan | ❄️ 50% chance 🌦️ 27 – 43° in Salt Lake City | ❄️ 40% chance ⛅ 35 – 60° in St. George Happy International Women’s Day! 🥳 I have a few orders of business: ☝️ Despite my not being a mother, I always manage to get flowers on Mother’s Day. I would like to take this moment to propose that today is a more appropriate day to get flowers for an amazing woman in your life (who may or may not be a mom). If any of you wanted to send me a bouquet of flowers today, I would NOT be mad about it. ✌️ True to form, Holly Richardson always writes the best columns about women’s issues. This year, she wrote a unique perspective on how “digital poverty” affects women worldwide. 🤟 I’m always fascinated by women’s history. I’m particularly interested in the ways women lived and went about their everyday lives. Also, after watching a particularly good — and immaculately costumed — docuseries by Dr. Lucy Worsley about the six wives of King Henry VIII, I’ve been fascinated by Queen Cathrine of Aragon. Apparently, she was a political genius. Tell me: Who are some historical women you find interesting? Also on our minds: What was in Brian Laundrie’s “burn after reading” letter from his mother, food assistance benefits are going-going-gone and the American dream isn’t just about money. |
