The State Government will further ease COVID Circuit Breaker restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne. 

From Friday 25 June the following operating conditions apply:

  • Face coverings must be carried at all times, and must be worn indoors.
  • Up to 75% of staff can return to office workplaces. 
  • Restaurants, cafes and drink facilities open for seated service only. Smaller venues can have up to 25 patrons before density quotient applies. Venues less than 600sqm can operate with lesser of density quotient of 1 per 2sqm or venue cap of 150 patrons provided they have a COVID Check-in Marshal. 
  • Food courts, no venue cap. A density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies. 
  • Gyms can operate with a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm, maximum of 300 indoors and 1,000 outdoors.

Business Costs Assistance Program

This program provides grants up to $5,000 for eligible businesses most impacted by the COVID circuit breaker restrictions. This includes businesses operating in an industry that cannot operate under the circuit breaker restrictions and which cannot work remotely.

Applications are open until 24 June 2021.

Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021

This program provides eligible businesses holding a current liquor license and food certificate with grants up to $7,000 per premises.

Applications are open until 24 June 2021.

Business Competitiveness Program

This program targets Victorian manufacturing businesses looking to expand their operations and improve their industry competitiveness.

Applications are open until 4 July 2021.

Victorian Events Support Package
 

This package supports event operators, hosts and suppliers who have incurred losses due to the COVID circuit breaker restrictions.

Applications are open until 16 July 2021.

The State Government has mandated that all businesses must use the Victorian Government QR Code Service and ensure customers check-in. 

Pen and paper register must be available for people who do not have access to a smartphone or cannot use the QR Code Service to check in.

Make sure you’re adhering to the current COVID restrictions

  • All businesses must have an active, up-to-date COVIDSafe Plan.
  • Keep accurate records and ensure your staff and visitors register their details for contact tracing.
  • Every customer-facing business must use the free Victorian Government QR Code Service  to check in customers, workers and all other visitors. 
  • Download and display signage to remind people of the need to check in, and other safety measures.
  • If you or your workers have even mild COVID symptoms, please get tested.
